How It All Started
My Dearest Brothers and Sisters,
I created this website and blog because of what I have experienced few years ago. I had a depression with suicidal thoughts and I could only stayed in my room, not wanting to do anything else. I was on my mobile a lot of the time, trying to find something that could help me just to feel a little bit better. That was when I found a blog by Mark Manson (credit to him - Thank you). I read one of his blog article, which made me read more and more and slowly it opened up my eyes and made me wanted to get up again in my life.
As his writing has helped me out of a dark hole I was in, I wanted to start writing a blog to pass it forward. So as a blogger had helped me out, I hope writing my blog could also help someone else get out of that dark place and go back to live again, slowly or not. Even if I could just help one person, that’s enough for me.
After reading Mark Manson’s blog, I had a different perspective of life and started seeing things differently. I started to feel better and I started to take it one day at a time. What helped me out of my depression the most was to start reconnecting with my joy. Do what brings you happiness, even if it is small. For me, one day I had a feeling that I wanted to buy plants. As I had to water them everyday, the plants helped me to get up in the morning to tend to them and it created a purpose to get up from my bed. Seeing my plants bear fruits was what brought me joy. Slowly, then things started to happen and I was back to work and living life again. Accepting was a very hard thing for me to do, as I was always controlling a lot of things in my life. I had to learn to accept that I was depressed, I was sad, and when I got tired of being sad and started to go back to activities that brings me joy, the sadness started to dissipate. The joy took over instead and the journey became something I appreciated later on in life.
I am not perfect and I also hope that you don’t listen to every word I say but use your own discernment, your intuition of what you would like to listen or not. You know, that intuition of “Hmm..I feel like pizza, or I feel like some some orange juice today” - That feeling. It will lead you the way of what is the right for you. What works for you may not work for others, vice versa what works for others may not necessarily work for you. Some people lot weight with fasting, some with exercise. It doesn’t mean one is right or wrong, better or worse than the other. Just what works for you! Start with what you know that works for you first and then everything else will follow on. As what they said : 1-100 is easy, but 0-1 is the hardest. Start with something small, like how I started with my plants. And the rest will be history.
I hope you enjoy reading the blog & the website as much as I enjoy creating it in the process. I believe that we are all created with our unique DNA and fingerprints that are only created for us for a reason, therefore there is only One of us in this whole earth. Own you, flip that hair, smile that lips and show yourself. You can do this, my brothers and sisters! I’m with you!
